How a tarot reading works
This reading draws from the full 78-card Rider-Waite-Smith deck: the 22 cards of the major arcana, which speak to life's larger themes, and the 56 cards of the minor arcana in four suits. Wands relate to energy and action, cups to feelings and relationships, swords to thoughts and decisions, and pentacles to work, money and the material world.
Cards are drawn at random without repeats, and each may appear upright or reversed, as it would from a shuffled deck. A reversed card usually points to the same theme turned inward, delayed or asking for more attention, not to something negative. The three-card spread reads Situation, Challenge and Guidance, looking at your question as it stands rather than predicting what will happen.
